Level the ground (if necessary) and install deck piers along a grid to support the shed. the piers will allow you to string support beams beneath the floor of the shed. in the example design, the piers are spaced 6 feet (1.8 m) apart in one direction and 4 feet (1.2 m) apart in the other for a total grid area of 12 x 8 feet.. This is a pretty straight forward building, if you do everything in order. i am bad at not following directions to the letter. as an old carpenter i like to use screws instead of nails, they just hold better. i am using this building as a goat barn so i moved the doors to the center on the side and made another set for the center on the other side.. Gable shed features. pressure treated floor framing; framing lumber for walls & roof 5/8" floor sheathing; 6’ high walls (8’ wide) 7’ high side walls (10’ and 12’ wide) 4’x8’ grooved siding; 4/12 roof pitch (8’ wide) 6/12 roof pitch (10’ and 12’ wide) drip edge 7/16” roof sheathing; fiberglass roofing shingles 1x4 trim on.
